Breeders crossed these hairless cats with Devon Rex cats to strengthen the gene pool and refine the breed. The hairlessness gene is recessive, meaning both parents must carry the gene to produce hairless kittens. The breed was officially recognized in the late 20th century and has gained a dedicated, passionate following worldwide for its unique look and exceptionally friendly temperament.

Personality & Behavior

Sphynxes are highly energetic, mischievous, and affectionate cats. They love being the center of attention and are known for performing playful antics to entertain their owners.
